Happy Days!
Well Happy Days! Kiddo #3 is off to preschool today. While other children were shedding tears and clasping desperately to their mothers’ skirts, Mr. Oliver skipped off to circle time with a quick wave and hardly a look back. His day had finally arrived!
I celebrated with a cup of Mayan Hot Chocolate from the ever delicious Moonstruck Cafe. A big cheers to me!
Been trying to get organized and have hit my house and closets with a vengence–it feels so good! I’ve also been feeling a little crafty.
I’ve been wanting to wallpaper the inside of my vintage built-ins, but haven’t wanted to cough up the money. So I was thrilled when I walked down an aisle of Target and found the cutest contact paper/shelf liner! Two hours and five buck later–Viola!
My other little project serves a purpose. I’ve been struggling with finding time to read scriptures with the kids. The morning is too hectic and at bedtime I’m too exhausted to deal with it. So I came up with this cute idea (if I may say so myself). I covered an empty can with pieced favorite fabrics of mine. I then wrote the scripture mastery verses on popsicle sticks and placed them inside. I’ve placed it on my buffet in the dining room so each night one of the children chooses a stick and we read that scripture. It is simple, stylish and effective . . . just how I like things!
Now I am off to tackle my closet!

Hooray for preschool! My 3rd child just started preschool as well, happy days for sure.
Your contact paper solution turned out so well! I love your description of simple, stylish, and effective solutions.
I am loving your hair. Tres chic!
The wallpaper is delicious. I need to “plug” a whole in a hutch I found. I should have know to look at Target. Thanks for the idea.
I’m glad Oliver is happy at school.
Your hair looks gorgeous! And so do the Cabniets. And Oliver is too cute, and it is awesome that he loves going to school.
I think I will see you in October, according to the parents.

I don’t know what to comment on first - your darling hair, darling son, or the darling cabinets! Oh - and the scripture can! (How did you finish that - is it all sewn and then you slide it over the can or did you glue it?)
I can’t believe you did that with shelf liner. It looks fab - and I am inspired…
Show your closet when you finish!!!
Now those donkey and elephant election truffles at Moonstruck are just the CUTEST!! I have never seen such a thing.
Are you kidding me-preschool for Mr. Oliver already? Amazing! I love it when you share you crafting ideas-always brilliant miss Amy!
You are too good and I bet you are loving life!!! That hot chocolate was tasty!
Hooray for Oliver! How exciting for him to get to go to school too.
It’s so cute that you went and celebrated with hot chocolate (and took a self-portrait).
Your built-ins look fantastic, how amazing that you did it for $5.
Oliver looks so cute all ready for preschool! Jared started this week too. So far soo good. I’m looking forward to my 5 hours of free time a week. It’s not much, but hey I will take it!
I love how the liners look in your built ins! You are the crafty woman!
Great idea about the scripture jar! We need to find a way to get that into our day too. I might just borrow your idea!
First off LOVE your cute hair. And those are both brilliant ideas (which I am not surprised) I may have to do that stick one!
And those photos of your kids are so endearing. Which reminds me I need to do our family photos soon!
Thank you for posting the scriptures in a can idea. Hope you do not mind I am going to use it. I am thrilled you blogged the other day. I love reading your blog and Rebecca S.’s blogs. - Melissa
everything you do looks like it was touched by pixie magic!!!! I agree with Rebecca—cute shelves, hair, can, and kiddo!!! You’re amazing!
Yes Bec, I sewed the pieces of fabric on first, then just slid it on–no glue!
Amy Wise, you are a genius. A creative genius! I’ve always loved your decorative flair. Your little shotgun was one of my favorite home in New Orleans because of your special touch. I can see that your California home is certainly no different!
Your boy should be on a magazine cover. Along with his siblings! You Wises make cute, cute kids.
