Update
You might have noticed our blog was down for a few days. What I thought would be a minor problem has proven to be complicated and almost heartbreaking. The server which holds this site has completely deleted my blog. For some unknown reason they lost ALL of it. Needless to say I was miserable when I thought I had lost 2 1/2 years of family journaling.
Brigham has found some of the blog that has been cached by Google and I have spent MANY hours on a search and recovering mission throughout the web. I probably have now found about two-thirds of my entries and hope to find more.
We are now taking steps to save all of our blog entries to our hard drive. In addition we have now backed up our hardrive to an off-site holder. This covers us in case we were to have a fire in our home or were our hard drive to crash and lose everything on the computer–including our precious photos where they are stored.
Having almost lost everything, I realize how very priceless and irreplaceable both this blog and my pictures are. I would encourage you all to look into doing a similar thing. My blog won’t be running at full capacity for a little while (I’m not sure if you can even leave comments-try so I can see if it works).
On a bright note, I just had a glorious week with friends and family. I feel so lucky to have my wonderful mom and sister and then my beloved Swindles visit us. This made for two very hard goodbyes at the airport:) Thank you, thank you for coming!

sorry
Oh what a bummer about the blog. I was wondering what the problem was!
So glad you are back.
Airport goodbyes are the worst!
Miss ya’ll!
amy,
that is awful about your blog! i, too, use my blog as a way to journal and store photos and i can’t imagine losing it all! good luck finding the rest. i, for sure, will be looking into backing mine up. which off-site holder are you using?
Melissa Rozeski had the same problem, but lost her whole blog. Luckily she had been printing the entries off as she went! I should really archive mine somehow. Glad you are “up and running” again.
Hurray - you are a genius for finding all of your back posts, mama bear. Nice work!
I am still in withdrawals, I will admit, for you. Truly. Thank you, thank you, for a superb trip - culinarily, windy beachily, firecracker dragony, and late night talky. We miss you!
Oh, awful! Now I want to archive mine! I need to be better about backing up photos as well…
I’m so sad for you, but glad you have been able to piece your life back together. I really need to archive mine too.
I love visits from old friends. It feels nice to have friends around that don’t require all the work. It sounds like a great trip.
Amy, that is so sad! I’m glad that you’ve been able to recover most of it, and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the rest. So, a friend of mine just printed a book of her blog for the past year and it is SO cute. You can choose the layout and everything and it turns into this adorable photo journal of the past year of your family. You can just slurp it to the site and they make the book for you, but you can pick the layout, how the photos are, etc. Here’s a link to their website if you’re interested… it’s always nice to have a hard copy!

That really is terrible and one of my biggest fears. I have been seriously thinking what would happen if blogger crashed or something. Glad you were able to piece some back together and have great visits from family and friends in between! Thanks for the link
Hey! I know I have been terrible about letting you know what is going on with us, but I always feel like I am in touch through your blog……good luck finding the rest!!! Send me a note, I would love to chat. We just moved so I am interested in knowing the decorating websites etc. Love ya, Rachel
